Stainless steel: Mazes

This piece uses the positive and negative elements of the maze to turn a two-dimensional design into a three-dimensional object.

Here two maze designs, an acorn and an oak leaf, intersect eachother, to create freestanding pieces which will cast different shadows depending on the direction from which the light falls. If aligned north-south the morning sun will cast a shadow of the acorn and the evening sun that of the leaf. Again, both parts of the mazes are used to produce two complementary pieces.

This fish design could be enlarged to serve as a sculptural bench.
